What does it actually cost to sell your business? The answer depends entirely on which model you choose — and the difference can run into hundreds of thousands of kroner on a larger deal.
The most common pricing models
Broker commission
The classic model at many business marketplaces: the broker takes a percentage of the sale price, often combined with a smaller fixed fee. The higher the business sells for, the more you pay — regardless of whether the broker's effort genuinely matches the amount.
Hourly rate
Typically used for defined tasks, e.g. drafting a single agreement, rather than the whole sale process. Advantageous for smaller tasks, but can become unpredictable for a long, complex process.
Fixed one-off fee
You pay one set amount to list the business for sale — regardless of what it ends up selling for. This is the model we use ourselves: no commission, no follow-up billing.
What does it cost with us?
- Standard (DKK 699): For you who want to run the sale yourself — full listing, direct contact with buyers.
- Premium (DKK 999): Featured listing, full document package and the option of an anonymous listing.
- Advisory & Mediation: Individual price depending on the business's size and complexity — includes everything from the Premium package plus personal negotiation assistance.

Why isn't a commission model always best for you as a seller?
A percentage-based broker commission can sound reassuring — "we only earn if you do" — but it also means a larger share of your sale amount goes to the broker, the better the deal is for you. With a fixed amount, you know from the start exactly what it costs, regardless of whether the business sells for 1 million or 10.
What does professional advice cost on top?
If you need help with parts of the process — negotiation, due diligence, or a legal review of the transfer agreement — it can be added separately, without you having to commit to a full broker package. See what's typically included, and when advice pays off.
Which model fits you?
- Is the business small and manageable, and do you have the time yourself? The Standard or Premium package is often enough.
- Is the business large or complex, or do you lack the time to run the process yourself? Consider Advisory & Mediation.
